ABOUT THE ARTISTS

William John Divney and Hallie Leighton met at the High School of Performing Arts in Manhattan, where they both majored in drama.

HALLIE LEIGHTON

As a St. John's College student in Santa Fe in the early 90's, Hallie collected a bunch of vocal impressions and performed them in local coffee houses. A quote from a review in The Moon, the St. John's College newspaper, read:

"Hallie Leighton, the showstopper of the night, came on to perform her now famous channeling of dead and forgotten rock stars' piece. In a medley that included covers of Aretha Franklin, Heart, the Bangles, the Eurythmics, Cyndi Lauper, Edie Brickell, Sinead O'Connor, and Jefferson Airplane, Leighton did wonderful impressions that showcased her wide vocal range. She and her backing band received great crowd response, as choruses on most songs were sung along by the audience, and a standing ovation followed the end of the set."

Hallie is currently a freelance writer and the founder of the website Womanhattan.com. She came upon her talent for impressions honestly; her father, actor Jan Leighton, holds the Guinness World Record for the most disguises.
